The Council of Shura has firmly rejected any projects that fall outside the framework of the state. The council emphasized that the primary battle remains focused on restoring state institutions, ending the coup, and reclaiming a unified national path.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the council expressed deep concern regarding the rapid developments in the eastern provinces. It highlighted that unilateral actions threaten social peace, undermine state foundations, and could lead to dangerous paths that only serve chaos and undermine constitutional legitimacy.
The council fully supports the statements made by President Rashad Mohammed Alimi during his meeting with ambassadors from countries sponsoring the political process. This stance reflects the leadership’s commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty and preventing the establishment of parallel authorities outside the constitution and law.
The council reiterated that the three agreed-upon references—namely the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216—form the solid foundation for any political solution. These references guarantee Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, and the restoration of state institutions.
The council stressed that any actions taken outside recognized institutional frameworks represent a clear violation of these references. Such actions pose a direct threat to the unity of military and security institutions and undermine the authority of the legitimate government, placing the country at significant security and political risk.
The council praised Saudi Arabia’s responsible role in supporting efforts to de-escalate tensions in Hadhramaut province. It acknowledged the kingdom’s contributions in preventing the region from sliding into open conflict. The council warned that any attempts to undermine these efforts would disregard citizens’ interests and jeopardize regional stability.
The council cautioned that any security disturbances in Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra provinces could lead to catastrophic economic and living conditions. These include delays in salary payments, fuel shortages, deteriorating electricity services, and worsening humanitarian situations. Additionally, such instability could weaken donor confidence in the legitimate government and hinder economic reforms.
The council urged the international community and countries sponsoring the political process to take a clear stance against unilateral actions. It emphasized the exclusive authority of the legitimate government in exercising its constitutional powers and the necessity of respecting Yemen’s sovereignty and institutional unity based on the agreed-upon references.
The council highlighted that international silence regarding these violations allows destabilizing forces to threaten Yemen’s future and national unity.
The council called for a unified stance among Arab coalition countries to protect state institutions and prevent security disruptions in liberated provinces. It warned against opening new fronts that would only benefit the Iran-backed Houthi militias.
The Council of Shura reaffirmed that the core battle remains focused on restoring state institutions, ending the coup, and reclaiming a unified national path. It appreciated Saudi Arabia’s ongoing support for the Yemeni people in various humanitarian and economic fields.
The council called on the international community to exert public pressure to halt any attempts to undermine the government’s exclusive powers. It urged foreign forces to return to their positions outside Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra provinces and to support local authorities in protecting sovereign facilities and preventing further escalations.
The council reiterated that the collapse of state logic would lead the country into complete chaos, making it impossible for any party to invest in future stability. It affirmed that the Yemeni people are capable of defending their state and preserving their unity if local, regional, and international efforts align.
