In a significant diplomatic engagement, Yemen’s Foreign Minister and Minister of Expatriates met today in the temporary capital of Aden with key representatives from the European Union. The meeting included Gabriel Munuera, the Head of the EU Mission to Yemen, Janet Sebben, the Dutch Ambassador, and Janina Kopfmueller, the Chargé d’Affaires of the German Embassy.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister praised Gabriel Munuera for his constructive role in enhancing cooperation between Yemen and the European Union. He emphasized the importance of the EU ambassadors’ visit, highlighting it as a reflection of the EU and the international community’s support for the Yemeni people. This support is especially crucial as Yemen undertakes ongoing governmental reforms. The Foreign Minister also noted the EU’s role in ensuring freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.
The Foreign Minister reaffirmed the Yemeni government’s commitment to a peaceful resolution and its ongoing engagement with Hans Grundberg, the UN Special Envoy to Yemen. He stressed the government’s support for UN efforts and the facilitation of humanitarian organizations to ensure that aid reaches all those in need across the country.
This meeting underscores the collaborative efforts between Yemen and international partners aimed at fostering stability and humanitarian assistance in the region.
