The Prime Minister visits the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen headquarters.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak visited the headquarters of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen in Riyadh. This visit aimed to strengthen cooperation between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, focusing on vital development initiatives.

Meeting with Program Leaders

During his visit, Prime Minister bin Mubarak held a meeting with Ambassador Mohammed Al Jaber, the general supervisor of the Saudi Program, along with several key leaders from the program. The discussion centered on critical interventions and projects that the program implements across various sectors. These include infrastructure, basic services, education, health, transportation, water, electricity, normalization of conditions, capacity building, and job creation for youth.

Strategic Plans for Development

The meeting also addressed the program’s strategic plans, emphasizing coordination with the Yemeni government. This collaboration aims to transition Yemen towards a phase of development and reconstruction, ultimately alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people. Both parties praised the excellent cooperation between the government and the program, which serves to enhance sustainable development projects for the Yemeni population. The focus remains on improving daily life, creating job opportunities, and upgrading infrastructure across essential sectors.

Update on Projects Across Yemen

The Saudi Program provided an overview of its ongoing projects and initiatives, which span 14 Yemeni provinces and cover eight key sectors: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture, fisheries, and government capacity building. These initiatives reflect a comprehensive approach to development in Yemen.

Appreciation for Saudi Support

Prime Minister bin Mubarak expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the Yemeni leadership and people for Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support. He acknowledged the Kingdom’s readiness to assist Yemen in various circumstances, highlighting the historical ties and shared destiny between the two nations. The Prime Minister noted the significant impact of the Saudi Program’s interventions in enhancing development and improving living conditions.

Commitment to a Prosperous Future

Ambassador Mohammed Al Jaber reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting Yemen’s efforts toward building a stable and prosperous future. Under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Kingdom aims to facilitate a comprehensive developmental process in Yemen.

Accompanying Delegation

The Prime Minister was accompanied during his visit by Minister of Water and Environment Engineer Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi, Director of the Prime Minister’s Office Engineer Anis Baharatha, and Executive Director of the Emergency Response Unit Jamal Ben Ghanem.

This visit underscores the ongoing collaboration between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, reflecting a shared commitment to rebuilding Yemen and improving the lives of its citizens.
