On Wednesday, Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak convened a crucial meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Interior and police directors from the liberated provinces. The meeting aimed to discuss the current security situation and explore ways to improve the performance of security agencies. The ultimate goal is to reduce crime, combat terrorism, and enhance overall stability.
The discussions centered on improving coordination among various security bodies. Officials emphasized the need to develop tools for counter-terrorism and tackle organized crime effectively. They also addressed issues related to smuggling and economic crimes, including currency speculation and the illegal trafficking of foreign currencies. The meeting highlighted the importance of equipping security agencies to meet both domestic and international challenges.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prime Minister bin Mubarak conveyed greetings from President of the Presidential Leadership Council and expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Interior and its personnel. He acknowledged the challenges they face in maintaining security and stability under difficult conditions. The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to improving these circumstances and prioritizing support for security forces.
The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Public Health and Population to ensure that security personnel injured in the line of duty receive state-funded medical treatment. He also emphasized the importance of caring for the families of fallen security personnel.
Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak underscored the critical role of security institutions in achieving the government’s five main priorities. He stated that discussions about resource development and reforms would be incomplete without the active involvement of security agencies. He stressed the need for these institutions to responsibly implement judicial orders to uphold the rule of law.
The Prime Minister highlighted the necessity of implementing reforms within security sectors. These reforms should align with accountability, transparency, and human rights principles. He called for enhanced training programs and improvements in the working conditions of security personnel across all ranks.
During the meeting, the Minister of Interior and various police directors shared their efforts to implement a security deployment plan and achieve stability despite challenging circumstances. They expressed their commitment to following the Prime Minister’s directives to overcome existing challenges and address financial and administrative discrepancies as part of the government’s reform strategy.
The meeting concluded with the establishment of a joint committee comprising representatives from the Ministries of Interior and Finance, along with the Prime Minister’s Office. This committee will address the financial and administrative challenges raised during the discussions and propose necessary measures for approval.
The meeting also included the presence of the Prime Minister’s Office Director, Engineer Anis Baharitha.
This collaborative effort aims to bolster security measures and ensure the safety and stability of the liberated provinces.
