Deputy Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament, Engineer Mohammed Al-Shadadi, recently met with Jonathan Pecha, the Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Yemen. The two officials explored ways to enhance bilateral relations between Yemen and the United States. They also addressed the current economic and service-related challenges stemming from the Houthi coup.

Addressing Humanitarian and Economic Crises

During the meeting, which included several members of the Parliament, Al-Shadadi highlighted the worsening humanitarian crisis in Yemen. He pointed out issues such as electricity shortages and water scarcity. Furthermore, he emphasized the urgent need for increased international support for development projects and the strengthening of national institutions. Al-Shadadi called for continued logistical support from the United States and the international community.
