Local authorities in Hadramout commend presidential efforts to resume flights between Al-Riyan and Cairo airports.

The local leadership in Hadhramaut has commended the presidential efforts that led to the resumption of direct flights between Al-Riyan Airport and Cairo. This development addresses the needs and appeals of Hadhramaut residents and citizens from eastern provinces, supporting economic growth and investment across the nation.

Governor Expresses Gratitude

Governor Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi expressed appreciation on behalf of the local authority and all residents of Hadhramaut for the efforts of President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi. The governor acknowledged the president’s commitment to restoring this vital international route and his supportive stance toward enhancing Hadhramaut’s economic significance.

Residents of Hadhramaut, both domestically and abroad, have welcomed the presidential initiatives that successfully reinstated the “Al-Riyan – Cairo” flight route. This long-awaited service had been a priority for the people of the province and eastern regions, as well as for the nation at large, for many years.

Acknowledgment of Collaborative Efforts

Governor bin Madi also recognized the contributions of the Ministry of Transport, the Yemeni Embassy in Egypt, and the leadership of the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology. He highlighted the successful coordination with Yemenia Airlines, which culminated in the resumption of these essential flights after nearly a decade of inactivity.

Strengthening Yemeni-Egyptian Relations

The governor praised the fruitful relations between Yemen and Egypt, emphasizing how this collaboration has facilitated significant achievements. He noted that the renewed flights will enhance economic and investment activities between the two countries and their peoples.

Upcoming Flight Schedule

The Ministry of Transport and Yemenia Airlines announced that they received the necessary permits from Egyptian authorities to operate direct flights between Al-Riyan Airport and Cairo. Following over ten years of suspension, the flights will commence soon, with a schedule to be announced within the next two weeks.

This development marks a pivotal moment for Hadhramaut and highlights the ongoing commitment to improving connectivity and fostering economic growth in the region.
