The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has officially launched five volunteer projects today in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen. These initiatives focus on administrative, technical, professional, and health sectors, executed by a team of 24 Saudi professionals.
The projects aim to enhance the skills of Yemeni administrative staff. Training will cover essential areas such as human resources, project management, strategic planning, and financial reporting. Additionally, two specialized projects will focus on air conditioning system maintenance and sewing, along with design arts. These initiatives will be conducted in partnership with the International Association for the Care of War and Disaster Victims (Al-Ameen) and in coordination with the Community College and the Disability Fund in Aden. They will also include training for beneficiaries with disabilities, empowering them economically and promoting entrepreneurship in creative and artisanal fields.
Another significant project involves a medical volunteer initiative that provides open-heart surgery and cardiac catheterization for needy patients who cannot afford surgical costs. This service will take place at Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital in Aden. Furthermore, the center will offer a general volunteer project aimed at providing psychological support to the most vulnerable groups. This initiative will include counseling sessions and specialized training courses in psychological guidance, focusing on enhancing mental health and alleviating the impacts of crises.
Dr. Fadl Al-Shabhi, Dean of the Community College, emphasized the importance of these specialized training courses. He noted that they represent a vital addition to the academic and practical activities the college aims to develop in line with market needs. Dr. Al-Shabhi expressed gratitude for the support from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center for such essential initiatives.
The launch of these projects marks a significant step in addressing the pressing needs of the Yemeni community, fostering skills development, and promoting health and well-being.
