Minister Launches Comprehensive Cleanliness and Awareness Campaign in Aden

Today, Abdul Rahman Sheikh, the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, inaugurated a comprehensive cleanliness and awareness campaign at the Al-Oroud Square in the Khormaksar district. The campaign, titled “Cleanliness in Aden is My Responsibility,” aims to enhance the city’s environmental standards.

A New Era for Aden

During the launch, Governor Sheikh emphasized that this initiative aligns with the local authority’s motto, “Together for a Strong and Civilian New Aden.” He described the campaign as a significant step towards restoring the cultural and civilizational identity of Aden, the temporary capital. Sheikh expressed optimism that citizens would soon witness tangible improvements across various sectors.

Community Engagement is Key

The governor urged the community to actively participate in the campaign’s success. He assured attendees that the initiative would be sustainable, involving various resources and capabilities. The goal is to create a practical program that raises community awareness and maintains the city’s overall appearance.

Collaborative Efforts Across Districts

Mohammed Shadhli, the First Deputy Governor of Aden, stated that the campaign would involve all districts and relevant institutions in the governorate. He highlighted that today’s activities mark a genuine beginning of a broader program aimed at instilling a culture of cleanliness and sustainable community work.

Community Commitment to a Cleaner Future

Mohammed Salem, the Deputy Governor for Media, noted that the large turnout at Al-Oroud Square reflects the community’s commitment to safeguarding Aden’s future and its residents.

Comprehensive Action Plan

Caid Anam, the Director General of the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund in Aden, shared that the fund has developed a comprehensive field plan for the campaign. This plan includes deploying field teams and equipment to targeted locations across the governorate. Additionally, the campaign will focus on removing accumulated waste and conducting awareness initiatives to instill a culture of cleanliness among citizens.

This campaign represents a pivotal moment for Aden, as it seeks to foster a cleaner, more vibrant community through collective action and awareness.
