Fierce clashes erupted today in the Hayfan district, located in the southern part of Taiz Governorate, as armed forces engaged with Houthi militia backed by the Iranian regime. This confrontation coincided with airstrikes targeting militia positions.
A military source reported to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that artillery fire concentrated around the Al-Manzara hill, directed towards Mount Al-Mamshah. Additionally, armed forces conducted several airstrikes, hitting militia sites and gatherings in the areas of Al-Mamshah, Al-Ahkoum, Al-Ireim, Al-Qubayta, Al-Rahda, and Karash. These operations resulted in significant losses for the militia in terms of personnel and equipment.
The military source also noted that the Houthi militia has dispatched reinforcements to various locations, including Al-Akbous School, Al-Zubair Market, Al-Ahkoum Junction, Al-Houd Hill, and the sites of Al-Khazja and Al-Abous, as well as Al-Manzara Hill. The clashes continue, indicating an escalation in the conflict.
The situation remains fluid, with both sides engaged in ongoing military activities. As the conflict unfolds, the humanitarian impact on the local population continues to be a pressing concern.
