Yemen’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Salem Al-Balfaqih, recently met with Ahmad Muzani, the Chairman of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly. The two officials discussed the bilateral relations between their nations and explored ways to enhance cooperation.
During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Balfaqih provided an update on the situation in Yemen. He highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to achieve peace and stability. Al-Balfaqih pointed out the challenges posed by the continuous attacks from the Houthi militia, which receives support from the Iranian regime. He emphasized the impact of these aggressions on Yemen’s security, regional stability, and the safety of international navigation in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Both sides underscored the importance of maintaining communication and strengthening the bonds of friendship between Yemen and Indonesia. They expressed a mutual desire to expand areas of cooperation that serve the shared interests of both nations and their peoples.
The meeting reflects a commitment to fostering a collaborative relationship that can address common challenges and promote peace in the region.
