On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, the State of Kuwait will commemorate the 64th anniversary of its independence and the 34th anniversary of its liberation. The Republic of Yemen expresses its solidarity with the people of Kuwait, highlighting the strong ties between the two nations at both leadership and grassroots levels.
Kuwait has played a significant role in establishing the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Additionally, it stands as a prominent member of the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the United Nations. Kuwait’s active participation in various Arab, Islamic, and international organizations underscores its commitment to regional and global cooperation.
Internally, Kuwait has embarked on a new economic phase with its first development plan. This plan includes large-scale projects across several sectors, such as oil, gas, electricity, infrastructure, education, and healthcare. Through its “Kuwait 2035” vision, the country aims to transform into a global financial and commercial hub.
The development plan emphasizes attracting foreign investors to stimulate economic activities and enhance security stability. One of the most notable projects is the “Silk City,” which spans 250 square kilometers and carries an estimated cost of $86 billion. This ambitious initiative aims to boost economic growth and create job opportunities.
Kuwait ranks among the world’s leading oil producers and is a founding member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). As part of the “Kuwait 2035” vision, the country plans to develop the new Al-Zour refinery, which will produce high-quality, environmentally friendly fuel.
Kuwait continues to enhance public services, healthcare, and education while focusing on infrastructure development. The government is also dedicated to diversifying income sources by promoting the tourism sector and expanding economic activities.
In conclusion, Kuwait’s celebrations reflect its rich history and commitment to progress. The nation looks forward to a future marked by economic growth, regional cooperation, and enhanced public services.
