The Prime Minister emphasizes the government’s commitment to addressing economic decline and alleviating citizens’ living hardships.

Government Prioritizes Citizen Needs Amid Economic Challenges

Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Brek emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing citizen needs and supporting local authorities in overcoming challenges. He highlighted the urgency of addressing immediate priorities to alleviate ongoing hardships and curb economic and service deterioration.

Arrival in Aden Marks New Leadership Era

This statement followed Prime Minister bin Brek’s arrival in the temporary capital of Aden on Sunday, accompanied by President Rashad Mohammed Alimi of the Presidential Leadership Council. After receiving the council’s confidence and being appointed as Prime Minister, bin Brek outlined the government’s plans. He stated that the administration would work closely with the President, council members, and Yemen’s partners to tackle current challenges. The focus will be on mobilizing resources to restore state authority, end the Iranian-backed Houthi coup, and implement an economic recovery plan.

Acknowledgment of International Support

Prime Minister bin Brek praised the support from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He expressed gratitude for their continued commitment to Yemen’s needs and called for increased assistance from international partners and donor organizations during this critical period. This support is essential for efforts aimed at alleviating citizen suffering.

Engaging with Regional and International Leaders

Since his appointment, Prime Minister bin Brek has engaged in a series of meetings with officials from Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and various Arab and foreign ambassadors. These discussions focused on local, regional, and international developments, as well as the government’s priorities. Bin Brek emphasized the need for support to mitigate the impact of living conditions worsened by Houthi terrorist attacks on oil facilities and international shipping routes, which receive backing from the Iranian regime.

Conclusion

As the new government takes shape, the focus remains on addressing the pressing needs of the Yemeni people. With a commitment to collaboration and international support, the administration aims to navigate the complexities of the current crisis and work towards a stable and prosperous future for Yemen.
