The Republic of Yemen participated in the Global Expo for Marine Industries and Products held in Barcelona, Spain. The delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Salem Al-Wali.
Al-Wali emphasized that Yemen’s participation in this significant global event aims to enhance the visibility of Yemeni products in international markets. He stated, “We seek to attract and encourage investments in Yemen’s marine industries. We believe that Yemen possesses vast potential and resources in this sector, and we are determined to leverage them for sustainable development.”
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Al-Wali highlighted the ministry’s commitment to following the directives of political leadership and the Prime Minister. He noted that the ministry focuses on supporting exports and creating an attractive investment environment for large projects. “Through these efforts, we can generate job opportunities and enhance the state’s resources,” he added.
The Deputy Minister underscored the Yemeni government’s significant focus on the marine industry, recognizing it as a promising sector that contributes to national economic support and job creation. He praised the efforts of Yemeni companies to improve product quality and reach global markets.
Representatives from Yemeni companies expressed their enthusiasm about participating in the expo. They acknowledged that this event provides a valuable opportunity to showcase Yemeni products and exchange experiences with regional and international companies, thereby opening new avenues worldwide.
Yemen’s participation in the Global Expo for Fisheries in Barcelona aligns with the efforts of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries. These ministries aim to strengthen the fisheries and agricultural sectors in collaboration with the private sector. Their goal is to enhance Yemeni exports, thereby supporting national economic growth and fostering regional and international partnerships.
The expo featured representatives from several leading Yemeni companies in the fisheries sector, including Aden Gulf Fish Company, Al-Tamimi Fish Company, and Broom Fish Company. These companies showcased a diverse range of high-quality Yemeni seafood products, further highlighting the country’s potential in the marine industry.
