President Rashad Alimi Returns to Aden After Productive Official Visit to Russia

On Sunday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, returned to the temporary capital of Aden. He was accompanied by Prime Minister Salem Saleh Bin Brek following a fruitful official visit to the Russian Federation. During this visit, President Alimi engaged in bilateral discussions with President Vladimir Putin and senior officials from the State Duma and the Russian government.

Participation in Arab and Economic Summits

In addition to his meetings in Russia, President Alimi participated in both the Arab and Economic Summits held in Baghdad, Iraq. He also conducted consultations in Riyadh with regional and international allies regarding the latest developments in Yemen. These discussions focused on strategies to alleviate the humanitarian crisis exacerbated by Houthi militia attacks on oil facilities and international shipping routes.

Commitment to Address Economic and Humanitarian Crises

A source from the Presidential Office stated that President Alimi and his fellow council members will continue their efforts to strengthen the government’s role in addressing the economic and humanitarian crises caused by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.

Strategic Meetings to Enhance Reforms

The source confirmed that President Alimi plans to hold meetings with government leadership, local authorities, and relevant stakeholders. These meetings aim to share plans and policies designed to enhance comprehensive reforms, improve the state’s public resources, and contain the economic and service decline, particularly in the electricity and water sectors. Additionally, these discussions will support the liberation efforts and the restoration of state institutions.

Acknowledgment of Support from Regional Allies

In this context, the source praised the supportive stance of the coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Their humanitarian and developmental interventions have played a crucial role in ensuring the state meets its essential commitments and thwarting the Houthi militia’s plans to plunge the country into a comprehensive humanitarian crisis.

Conclusion

As President Alimi resumes his duties in Aden, his administration remains focused on navigating the complex challenges facing Yemen. Through strategic partnerships and dedicated reforms, the government aims to restore stability and improve the lives of its citizens.
