Minister Discusses Local Authority Budget for Al-Mahra Province

ADEN, Yemen – Today, Minister of Local Administration Hussein Al-Aghbari met with the Secretary-General of the Local Council in Al-Mahra Province, Salem Nimer, to discuss the local authority budget for the fiscal year 2026. The meeting took place in the temporary capital, Aden, and included Deputy Minister Maeen Mahmoud and several officials from both the ministry and the province.

Government Commitment to Local Development

During the meeting, Minister Al-Aghbari emphasized the government’s commitment to the local authority budget in Al-Mahra. He expressed readiness to provide necessary support to enhance developmental efforts within the administrative units and executive offices of the province. Al-Aghbari highlighted the importance of incorporating feedback on investment projects and involving the private sector in the development process. He urged adherence to the government’s overall direction and the provisions of Decision No. (11) of 2025, which pertains to comprehensive economic reforms for local authorities.

Overview of the Provincial Budget

The minister reviewed the province’s general budget, examining its financial allocations and the developmental needs across various sectors. He also assessed the general reports for the year 2025, ensuring that all aspects of the budget align with the province’s growth objectives.

Local Council’s Budget Projections

In response, Secretary-General Salem Nimer presented the indicative ceilings for the 2026 general budget. He outlined the tasks and achievements of local authority leaders at both the provincial center and district levels, showcasing ongoing efforts to improve governance and service delivery.
