Security personnel from the Al-Wadiah Border Crossing in Hadhramaut Province successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large shipment of narcotics into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Colonel Bassam Al-Najjar, the commander of the security battalion, reported that officers at the checkpoint became suspicious of a vehicle arriving from areas controlled by the Houthi terrorist militia. They conducted a thorough inspection, which led to the seizure of 39,206 Captagon pills and 900 grams of methamphetamine, cleverly concealed within the vehicle.
Authorities detained three individuals involved in the smuggling attempt. They will undergo preliminary investigations, and the confiscated drugs will be secured for transfer to the relevant judicial authorities.
Colonel Al-Najjar praised the vigilance of the checkpoint personnel for their role in preventing this smuggling attempt. He emphasized the battalion’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and protect the community from the dangers of this epidemic.
He urged travelers passing through the border crossing to cooperate with security forces and report any suspicious activities. Colonel Al-Najjar stressed that maintaining security is a shared responsibility, and public cooperation is essential in the fight against smuggling and organized crime.
