The Republic of Yemen has expressed strong support for the joint statement issued during the consultative ministerial meeting of several Arab and Islamic foreign ministers held in Riyadh. This statement addresses the blatant Iranian aggressions against countries in the region.
The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reaffirmed the country’s complete endorsement of the statement’s clear condemnation of Iran’s unjustified attacks. These aggressions have targeted civilian sites and critical infrastructure, including oil facilities, water desalination plants, airports, and residential areas. Such actions violate fundamental principles of international law and humanitarian law.
Yemen emphasized that these attacks represent a continuation of Iran’s systematic approach to destabilizing the region. The Iranian regime employs direct force and supports, arms, and finances affiliated militias. This behavior blatantly disregards the principles of good neighborliness, state sovereignty, and non-interference in internal affairs.
The Republic of Yemen asserted that countries have an inherent right to defend themselves against threats to their security and territorial integrity, as stated in Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. This right is non-negotiable and essential for maintaining national stability.
Yemen urged the international community to take a firm stance against the Iranian regime. It called for an immediate halt to all Iranian aggressions and the implementation of relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2817 of 2026. Additionally, Yemen demanded an end to all forms of support for armed militias in Arab countries, which serve as tools for imposing foreign agendas at the expense of regional interests.
Yemen reiterated its full solidarity with its brothers in Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Turkey, and all nations affected by these Iranian aggressions. The Yemeni government commended Saudi Arabia’s leadership in unifying regional and international positions and enhancing cooperative efforts to confront all threats.
In conclusion, Yemen’s response highlights its commitment to regional stability and security, advocating for collective action against external aggressions.
