The meteorological agency forecasts mild weather along the coasts, with cold conditions in mountainous areas and deserts.

Weather Forecast for Coastal and Mountainous Regions

The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast Center has issued its latest predictions for today, Thursday. The forecast indicates that coastal areas and their surroundings will experience partly cloudy skies with generally moderate temperatures. Winds will remain moderate, intensifying along the southwestern coasts and on Mayyun Island, stirring up sand and dust.

Conditions in Mountainous Areas

In the mountainous regions, the forecast predicts dry and dusty weather. Daytime temperatures will be mild, while nights and early mornings will feel cold. Skies will range from clear to partly cloudy, with a possibility of fog formation. Additionally, scattered rain may fall in parts of the western highlands. The desert and plateau areas will also see clear and dry conditions, with moderate daytime temperatures and cooler nights. Winds in these regions will be moderate to active, raising dust and sand.

Temperature Expectations

According to the daily weather report, expected maximum and minimum temperatures for today in coastal areas are as follows:

  • Aden: 31°C / 25°C
  • Mukalla: 29°C / 24°C
  • Hodeidah: 31°C / 26°C
  • Socotra: 32°C / 23°C
  • Mokha: 31°C / 25°C
  • Al-Ghaydah: 31°C / 22°C
  • Zinjibar: 30°C / 24°C
  • Lahij: 31°C / 24°C

In desert and plateau areas, temperatures are expected to be:

  • Sayun: 36°C / 16°C
  • Marib: 34°C / 19°C
  • Ataq: 33°C / 19°C
  • Bayhan: 35°C / 20°C

For mountainous regions, temperatures will be:

  • Sana’a: 29°C / 11°C
  • Taiz: 29°C / 15°C
  • Dhamar: 28°C / 08°C
  • Al-Dhale: 26°C / 14°C
  • Ibb: 29°C / 14°C
  • Al-Bayda: 26°C / 10°C

Safety Precautions

The center urges citizens, particularly the elderly and children in mountainous and desert areas, to take necessary precautions against the drop in temperatures during the night and early morning.

Marine Conditions

In its daily marine report, the Weather Forecast Center predicts calm seas along the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, and the Socotra Archipelago. The western coasts will experience light to moderate waves, while the Bab al-Mandab area will see moderate wave conditions. The regional waters in the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Aden will also have light to moderate waves, with moderate conditions expected in the Red Sea.

Warning for Fishermen

The center warns fishermen and sea-goers along the southwestern coasts, Bab al-Mandab, Mayyun Island, and the regional waters west of the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea to be cautious of potential sea disturbances.
