Arab and Islamic Condemnations of Houthi Terrorist Attack on Electricity Station in Medina

A number of Arab countries, the Arab League, the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Muslim World League, the Arab Parliament, and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif condemned the Houthi terrorist attack that targeted an electricity station in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

Egypt’s Strong Condemnation

The Arab Republic of Egypt strongly condemned the attack on the electricity station in Medina. The Egyptian government expressed its outrage over this blatant violation and the ongoing attempts to destabilize the security and stability of the Kingdom. This approach represents a serious escalation that exacerbates tensions in the region.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized its firm rejection of any actions that threaten the security and sovereignty of the Kingdom. It affirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to protect its security and safety, reiterating that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of Arab national security.

Kuwait’s Firm Stance

Kuwait also condemned the targeting of the electricity facility in Medina, which serves the Prophet’s Mosque and civilian interests. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement published by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), expressed Kuwait’s absolute rejection of repeated hostile attacks on civilian facilities. It stressed that these attacks violate the sovereignty of the Kingdom and breach international law and humanitarian law.

The ministry reiterated Kuwait’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, supporting all measures taken to protect its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its citizens and residents. It emphasized that the security of Saudi Arabia is an inseparable part of Kuwait’s security and that of the Gulf Cooperation Council states.

Qatar’s Strong Rejection

Qatar condemned, in the strongest terms, the targeting of the electricity distribution station in Medina by Houthi militias. This act represents a serious violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and a blatant provocation to the feelings of Muslims, as well as a clear breach of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and international law.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed Qatar’s firm rejection of attacks on holy sites and civilian infrastructure. It called for an immediate halt to these irresponsible actions and reaffirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, supporting all legitimate measures taken to maintain its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

Jordan’s Support

The Jordanian government condemned the targeting of the electricity distribution station in Medina by Houthi militias using a drone. It deemed this act a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a threat to its security, stability, and territorial integrity, as well as a flagrant breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The official spokesperson for the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Fouad Majali, affirmed Jordan’s complete solidarity with its sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, supporting all steps taken to protect its security and stability.

Gulf Cooperation Council’s Condemnation

Jassem Al-Budaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, strongly condemned the terrorist drone attack carried out by Houthi militias targeting the electricity distribution station in Medina, which provides services to the Prophet’s Mosque and civilian facilities in the city.

Al-Budaiwi stated that this Houthi aggression has crossed all red lines, representing a blatant provocation to the feelings of Muslims worldwide. He described it as a dangerous escalation that violates the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and reveals an aggressive approach that disregards religious and humanitarian values, as well as international laws and norms.

The Secretary-General emphasized the unwavering support of the Gulf Cooperation Council states for Saudi Arabia, standing in full solidarity with it in facing any threats to its security and stability.

Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s Stance

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist attack carried out by Houthi militias on the electricity distribution station in Medina. It affirmed that targeting vital facilities in Medina constitutes a serious escalation and a blatant violation of the sanctity of holy places and all international and humanitarian laws.

The organization stressed its complete solidarity with Saudi Arabia in all measures taken to protect its territory and ensure its security and stability.

Muslim World League’s Condemnation

The Muslim World League condemned, in the strongest terms, the terrorist attack carried out by Houthi militias on the electricity distribution station in Medina, continuing their aggression against the Kingdom.

Arab League’s Response

The Arab League condemned the targeting of the electricity station that provides services to the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina. It stated that targeting a civilian and vital facility represents an unacceptable transgression and a disregard for the sanctity of holy places and the safety of civilian infrastructure.

The League emphasized that this targeting provokes the feelings of Muslims worldwide and reflects a serious escalation by Houthi militias. It stressed the necessity of respecting the sanctity of holy places and keeping them and related facilities free from any hostile or military actions.

Arab Parliament’s Condemnation

The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Al-Yamahi, condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack carried out by Houthi militias targeting the electricity distribution station in Medina using a drone. He affirmed that these criminal acts represent a blatant violation of the sanctity of holy places and provoke the feelings of Muslims around the world, threatening the security and stability of the region.

Al-Yamahi called on the international community to bear its responsibilities in condemning and rejecting these criminal acts, confronting all forms of terrorism, and holding accountable those responsible and the entities behind them.

Al-Azhar’s Strong Rejection

Al-Azhar strongly condemned the targeting of the electricity distribution station in Medina, affirming its absolute rejection of this attack. It emphasized that harming the safety of Medina and its people, as well as visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque, contradicts the sanctity of holy places and their significance in the hearts of Muslims.

Al-Azhar reiterated its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, rejecting any actions that threaten its security and territorial integrity.

Council of Arab Interior Ministers’ Statement

The General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers expressed its strong condemnation of the attack carried out by Houthi militias on the electricity station serving the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina. It stated that this cowardly terrorist attack represents a blatant provocation to the feelings of Muslims and a flagrant violation of the sanctity of holy places.

The Council confirmed its complete solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the measures taken to protect Islamic holy sites and to ensure the safety and stability of its citizens and residents.
