The member states of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) elected Yemen as the Deputy President of the 70th session of the General Conference on Tuesday. The conference commenced in the Austrian capital, Vienna, and will continue until September 18.
Yemen secured this position during the conference, which features a delegation led by Yemen’s Ambassador to Austria and its Permanent Representative to the IAEA, Ambassador Haitham Shujaa Al-Din.
The current session of the conference addresses several issues related to the agency’s work. Key topics include technical cooperation and the peaceful uses of atomic energy, particularly in cancer treatment. Additionally, the conference will discuss the agency’s work program, budget, and various other matters listed on the agenda.
