The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen has announced a new package of development projects and initiatives worth 1.9 billion Saudi Riyals. This initiative reflects the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to support development, enhance essential services, and promote stability in Yemen.
The projects will focus on several provinces, including Aden, Hadhramaut, Al-Mahra, Socotra, Abyan, Shabwa, Marib, Taiz, Al-Dhale, and Lahij. They will cover vital sectors such as healthcare, education, energy, water, infrastructure, and transportation. These efforts aim to meet the needs of citizens and improve service levels in both public and private facilities.
The new package includes the establishment and operation of hospitals and medical centers, the construction of model schools, and the creation of universities and technical institutes. Additionally, the plan will enhance the efficiency of electricity generation stations, rehabilitate roads and airports, and develop related infrastructure. These improvements will facilitate better movement and services, thereby boosting economic and commercial activities in the targeted provinces.
The program emphasized that these projects represent an extension of the support provided by the Kingdom to the Yemeni people. This initiative follows the directives of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, with oversight from Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman. The efforts aim to strengthen development, reconstruction, and improve the quality of life across various regions in Yemen.
