On Wednesday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defense, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. The meeting also included Council members Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrimi, Dr. Abdullah Alimi, and Othman Majali, along with Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Breik.
During the meeting, Prince Khalid conveyed warm greetings from his brother, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He expressed their wishes for peace, security, and stability for Yemen and its people.
In response, President Alimi extended his greetings and those of the Council members to the Saudi leadership, wishing them continued health and prosperity for the Saudi government and its people under their wise leadership.
The discussions focused on the strong ties between Yemen and Saudi Arabia. Participants reviewed the latest developments in Yemen, emphasizing joint efforts to stabilize the situation and enhance the presence of state institutions in the temporary capital of Aden and other liberated provinces. They also explored ways to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people.
President Alimi expressed deep appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role in de-escalating tensions and protecting civilians. He acknowledged the Kingdom’s generous humanitarian and developmental interventions, including its willingness to host and support the Southern Dialogue Conference.
President Alimi praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts to bolster security and stability in Yemen. He highlighted the Kingdom’s steadfast support for the Yemeni people and their political leadership during various challenges.
The President expressed confidence that the exceptional brotherly relations between Yemen and Saudi Arabia would enter a new phase of promising partnership across all levels.
Prince Khalid reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government. He announced directives from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to provide economic assistance and a package of developmental projects worth 1.9 billion Saudi Riyals through the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.
Prince Khalid emphasized that this support reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing security and stability while contributing to a better future for the Yemeni people.
The meeting included the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Abdulrahman Sheikh Al-Yafei. From the Saudi side, attendees included Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif, Advisor to the Minister of Defense for Intelligence Affairs, Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Jaber, and Major General Dr. Mohammed bin Obaid Al-Qahtani.
This meeting marks a significant step in reinforcing the partnership between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, focusing on mutual support and development for the Yemeni people.
