Today, Governor Nabil Shamsan of Taiz convened a meeting to review the report from the High Committee for Water Crisis Management. The discussion focused on unifying efforts and strategies to mitigate the anticipated water supply crisis in the region.
During the extensive meeting, which included members of the committee and military leaders, such as Major General Abdulaziz Al-Majidi, participants concentrated on evaluating the emergency plan designed to address the water crisis. They aimed to minimize its impact on citizens amid the exceptional circumstances facing the province.
Governor Shamsan urged relevant authorities to swiftly implement the action items outlined in the emergency plan. He emphasized the necessity for full cooperation with the High Committee for Water Crisis Management and the operations room. This collaboration aims to unify efforts and enhance response efficiency.
The governor confirmed the commitment of supporting agencies, including the Planning and International Cooperation Office, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Provincial Police, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ministry of Finance. These agencies will execute their assigned tasks in accordance with Decision No. (15) of 2026, which established the High Committee for Water Crisis Management.
Engineer Rashad Al-Akhali, the Deputy Governor for Services, presented a detailed report on the urgent measures taken to alleviate the crisis. He outlined the responsibilities of the High Committee and its affiliated subcommittees, along with strategies to allocate available resources effectively to combat water shortages.
