Minister Signs Agreement for Water Project in Lahij and Hadramout

Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi, signed an agreement today in the temporary capital of Aden with the Kuwait Direct Aid Organization. This agreement focuses on a project to drill and equip artesian water wells in the Lahij and Hadramout governorates, funded by Kuwait.

Project Goals and Benefits

The project aims to enhance sources of clean drinking water in the targeted areas. It seeks to improve water service levels for residents, thereby reducing health risks associated with a lack of safe water. Additionally, the project supports the stability of the educational process for students in the beneficiary regions.

Project Details

The initiative includes drilling and equipping two artesian wells, each reaching a depth of 300 meters. The project will also install the necessary equipment and facilities to operate the wells, ensuring that residents have access to drinking water.

Minister Al-Sharjabi emphasized the importance of implementing such projects in areas facing challenges in accessing safe and sustainable water sources. He praised the Kuwaiti support and the contribution of the Kuwait Direct Aid Organization in assisting government efforts to improve water services and enhance water security.
