Gold prices experienced a slight decline in early Asian trading today, influenced by a strengthening U.S. dollar. Investors are closely monitoring the upcoming Federal Reserve meeting for indications regarding future interest rate trends.
In spot trading, gold fell by 0.1 percent to $4,013.70 per ounce. Meanwhile, U.S. gold futures for December delivery dropped by 0.3 percent to $4,027.10 per ounce.
The rise in the dollar diminishes gold’s appeal for investors holding other currencies, as gold is priced in U.S. dollars.
In other precious metals, silver saw a minor increase in spot trading, rising by 0.1 percent to $53.97 per ounce. Platinum remained stable at $1,527.81 per ounce, while palladium decreased by 0.7 percent to $1,042.43 per ounce.
