Meeting Highlights Strengthened Ties
Today, Yemen’s Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Eryani, met with Shao Cheng, the Charge d’Affaires of the People’s Republic of China in Yemen. The two officials discussed the bilateral relations between their countries and explored ways to enhance mutual cooperation.
Shared Interests in Stability
During the meeting, Al-Eryani emphasized that Yemen’s stability serves the interests of both Yemen and China, as well as the global economy. He pointed out that attacks targeting international navigation not only harm Yemen and the region but also negatively impact global trade and international supply chains.
Economic Reforms and Transparency Initiatives
Al-Eryani reviewed the government’s economic reform program, which aims to enhance transparency and combat corruption. This initiative, led by Prime Minister Dr. Shaa’ib Mohsen Al-Zandani, works in coordination with the Presidential Leadership Council under President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi. The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to addressing ongoing challenges and fostering partnerships with the international community to achieve stability and development.
Appreciation for Saudi Support
The Minister expressed gratitude for the steadfast support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Yemen. He noted that this assistance has been crucial in maintaining economic and service stability, preventing the country from sliding into more complex situations. This support reflects the deep historical and fraternal ties between the two nations and their peoples.
Celebrating Historical Ties with China
Al-Eryani also highlighted the deep-rooted historical relationship between Yemen and China. He expressed anticipation for the upcoming celebration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, viewing this milestone as an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation across various sectors.
China’s Commitment to Yemen’s Sovereignty
In response, the Chinese Charge d’Affaires reaffirmed his country’s support for Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. He expressed China’s eagerness to enhance bilateral cooperation and support efforts to achieve security, stability, and peace in Yemen.
