Weather Forecast for Yemen: Hot Conditions Expected

The Meteorological and Early Warning Center at the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology predicts continued hot to extremely hot weather in coastal and desert areas. The forecast also includes chances of scattered thunderstorms in several provinces.

Coastal Areas and Nearby Regions

  • Weather will be humid and hot to extremely hot.
  • Conditions will range from clear to partly cloudy.
  • There is a possibility of scattered rain along the eastern and southern coasts and the Socotra Archipelago.
  • Moderate winds will intensify around Socotra and the southern coasts.

Mountainous Regions

  • Weather will be partly cloudy and moderately warm.
  • Heavy thunderstorms accompanied by hail are expected in the western and southwestern highlands.
  • Rain may extend to Lahij, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramaut, and Al-Mahra.

Desert and Plateau Areas

  • Weather will be dry and clear to partly cloudy.
  • High temperatures are expected during the day, with moderate temperatures at night.
  • Thunderstorms may occur in Al-Mahra, Hadramaut, Shabwa, and Al-Jawf.
  • Active winds will stir up dust and dirt.

  • Gulf of Aden: Moderate to rough waves.
  • Arabian Sea: Very rough waves.

The center advises fishermen and ship captains to exercise caution along the eastern and southern coasts, the Gulf of Aden, and around Socotra and the Arabian Sea due to rough sea conditions, high waves, and strong winds.
