The Meteorological and Early Warning Center at the General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology has forecasted varying intensities of rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in several eastern and southern provinces, as well as the Socotra Archipelago. The center expects partially to mostly cloudy conditions across large areas of the country.
The center indicated that coastal areas and nearby regions will experience partly to mostly cloudy skies, with relatively hot temperatures during the day and moderate temperatures at night. There is a chance of thunderstorms and rain along the eastern and southern coasts, particularly in the Socotra Archipelago. Winds will also strengthen along the southwestern coasts and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
In the mountainous regions, the forecast predicts cool to relatively cool weather during the night and early morning hours. The center anticipates varying intensities of thunderstorms and rain in parts of Al-Mahrah, Hadhramaut, and Shabwa provinces, extending to parts of the western highlands. Additionally, there is a possibility of fog and mist in some areas.
The center also expects rainfall in parts of the desert and plateau regions, especially in the deserts of Al-Mahrah, Hadhramaut, and Shabwa. The weather will remain hot during the day and relatively cool at night.
The center has warned citizens to avoid areas prone to flooding and low-lying roads during rainfall. It urged caution during thunderstorms and advised people to stay away from electrical poles, trees, and billboards. Elderly individuals and children in mountainous areas should take necessary precautions due to the expected drop in temperatures.
In the marine forecast, the center predicts light to moderate waves along most Yemeni coasts. Fishermen and sea-goers in the western coasts, Bab al-Mandab, and the Red Sea should be cautious of rising waves and strong winds.
