King Salman Humanitarian Aid Project Removes 798 Landmines in June

In the first week of June, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s “Masam” project successfully removed 798 landmines from various Yemeni provinces. These landmines, planted by Iranian-backed Houthi militias, pose a significant threat to civilian safety.

Details of the Removed Landmines

According to the center’s statement, the removal included six anti-tank mines, eleven anti-personnel mines, and 781 unexploded ordnance. With these recent efforts, the total number of landmines cleared since the inception of the “Masam” project has reached 565,137. The indiscriminate placement of these mines has resulted in tragic losses among innocent civilians, particularly affecting children, women, and the elderly, while instilling fear in the hearts of the local population.

The Importance of the “Masam” Project in Yemen

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continues its vital work in clearing Yemen of landmines. This initiative not only enhances civilian safety but also empowers Yemenis to lead dignified and secure lives. By removing these mines, the project aids in restoring normalcy to affected areas and supports the rebuilding of communities deprived of safety.

Saudi Arabia’s Commitment

Saudi Arabia’s efforts through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center reflect its unwavering commitment to supporting Yemen. Through the “Masam” project, the Kingdom continues to provide humanitarian assistance and help stabilize civilian life. This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s vision to promote security and peace in the region.
