The Spanish government has strongly condemned the indiscriminate attacks launched by Houthi militias against the Yemeni people and civilian facilities in various regions of Saudi Arabia. This condemnation highlights Spain’s commitment to regional stability and security.
In an official statement, the Spanish government reiterated its solidarity with Yemen and Saudi Arabia. It expressed heartfelt wishes for the recovery of those injured in these attacks. Furthermore, Spain voiced deep concern over the escalating instability in the region, which stems from the Houthi militias’ actions. This situation poses a significant threat to the sovereignty of both Yemen and Saudi Arabia, as well as to the safety of navigation in the Red Sea.
Spain reaffirmed its support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the internationally recognized Yemeni government. The Spanish government commended their efforts to enhance security and stability in Yemen while addressing foreign interventions in the country’s internal affairs. Spain emphasized that such interventions violate United Nations Security Council Resolution 2216.
The Spanish government called on the Houthi militias to immediately cease their attacks and violations of international law. It urged an end to the military escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region.
This statement reflects Spain’s ongoing commitment to peace and security in the Middle East, as it continues to advocate for diplomatic solutions to the ongoing conflicts.
