The Ministry of Human Rights has strongly condemned the horrific terrorist act committed by Houthi militias on Monday evening. The attack targeted a gathering and shelter for displaced individuals in the Raghwan district, located in northern Marib Governorate. This assault involved a ballistic missile and resulted in the tragic deaths of two children, aged seven and five, while injuring 15 civilians, including eight children.

Violations of International Law

In a statement released today, the Ministry emphasized that targeting gatherings of displaced persons, children, and unarmed civilians constitutes a grave crime and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law. This attack reflects a deliberate disregard for civilian lives, particularly among the most vulnerable groups, including children and displaced individuals who have already suffered due to the ongoing conflict.

Escalating Military Aggression

The Ministry underscored that this incident is not an isolated event. Instead, it forms part of a dangerous and systematic military escalation by Houthi militias. This escalation has included attacks on cities, residential neighborhoods, civilian infrastructure, and military sites across several governorates.
