The General Authority for Civil Aviation and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast and Early Warning Center has issued a weather update for Sunday, predicting mild daytime temperatures along the coastal regions and nearby areas. Nights will turn relatively cold, with partial to overcast skies and a chance of light, scattered rain on parts of the western coast. Moderate winds will pick up along the southwestern coasts and Bab al-Mandab.
According to the daily weather bulletin received by the Yemen News Agency (Saba), the forecast indicates that mountainous areas will experience dry and cold conditions, particularly during the night and early morning. Residents should expect the formation of fog and low clouds in some regions, along with sporadic rainfall in parts of the western highlands. Meanwhile, desert and plateau areas will remain generally dry and clear, with moderate daytime temperatures and very cold nights. Winds in these areas will be moderate to active, stirring up dust and sand.
The center has provided specific temperature forecasts for various regions on Sunday:
The center has reiterated its warning to residents in high-altitude areas about low temperatures. Citizens, especially children and the elderly, should take necessary precautions. Additionally, drivers in mountainous regions should be cautious of reduced visibility due to fog.
In its daily marine bulletin, the center forecasts calm seas along the coasts of Al-Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Abyan, and Aden. The Socotra Archipelago will experience light to moderate waves, while the waters off Bab al-Mandab and the western coasts will see moderate waves. The regional waters of the Arabian Sea will remain calm, while the Gulf of Aden will experience light to moderate waves. However, the Red Sea may see moderate to rough conditions. The center warns fishermen, sea-goers, and ship captains in Bab al-Mandab and the southwestern coasts to be cautious of rough seas and strong winds.
This comprehensive weather update aims to keep the public informed and safe during the changing conditions.
