The inaugural Humanitarian Leaders Forum has launched in Aden, marking a significant step in humanitarian efforts.

Humanitarian Leaders Forum Launches in Aden

The first edition of the Humanitarian Leaders Forum kicked off today in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen. Organized by Alif Ya Insan Foundation and Kunooz for Heritage and Sustainable Development, the forum operates under the theme “Be a Support… Always for the People.”

Diverse Participation and Engaging Discussions

The forum attracted over 55 international and local organizations, civil society institutions, and associations. Additionally, around 180 consultants, specialists, and international trainers in humanitarian work participated. The event featured a panel discussion that explored various aspects of humanitarian work. Topics included the relationship between skills training and humanitarian efforts, the impact of climate change on humanitarian challenges, and the integration and empowerment of people with disabilities.

Moreover, the forum highlighted the essential roles played by charitable institutions, organizations, and associations in humanitarian efforts. It also emphasized the contributions of women and skilled artisans to community and humanitarian work.

Focus on Children’s Future

Participants reviewed the second phase of the “Children Innovate the Future” project. This initiative focuses on supporting children with disabilities, cancer patients, street workers, and orphans. The project aims to provide these vulnerable groups with opportunities for growth and development.

Recommendations for Future Development

The forum concluded with a recommendation to establish a development fund that includes all organizations and civil society institutions. This fund would operate under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. Additionally, the forum suggested that organizations and civil society institutions should focus their efforts according to their specific fields or target groups.

This gathering of humanitarian leaders marks a significant step towards enhancing collaboration and addressing pressing humanitarian issues in Yemen.
