Today, the Presidential Decree No. (52) for the year 2026 was issued, officially creating the Khalifa Hospital Authority in the Al-Shamayatayn District of Taiz Governorate.
The decree consists of 26 articles divided into five chapters. The first two chapters cover the naming, definitions, establishment, objectives, tasks, and competencies of the authority. Chapters three and four focus on the management of the authority, its resources, and financial system. Finally, the fifth chapter outlines the concluding provisions.
The last article of the decree states that it will take effect from the date of its issuance and publication in the official gazette. The authority will possess legal personality, enjoying financial and administrative independence while remaining under the guidance, supervision, and oversight of the Minister of Public Health and Population.
The primary goal of the authority is to support the Ministry of Public Health in delivering medical and health services to citizens. It will manage and operate the hospital, enhancing and developing its services to meet community needs. Additionally, the authority aims to contribute to comprehensive development in line with the state’s public health policy.
This new initiative marks a significant step towards improving healthcare services in Taiz, reflecting the government’s commitment to public health and community welfare.
