“Masam” shares the joy of Eid with displaced children in Marib, bringing smiles and hope to those in need.

"Masam" Project Spreads Joy in Yemen's Displacement Camps

The “Masam” project, dedicated to clearing landmines in Yemen, recently organized festive visits to several displacement camps in Marib province. The team aimed to share the joy of Eid with children by distributing gifts, bringing smiles to their faces and happiness to their hearts.

Humanitarian Efforts Beyond Mine Clearance

The Masam team emphasized that their mission extends beyond removing landmines planted by Houthi militias across various provinces. They also engage in humanitarian activities designed to provide psychological and social support to civilians affected by the war. This initiative particularly focuses on children who endure the harsh realities of displacement.

Targeting Vulnerable Children in Camps

This initiative specifically targeted displaced children in the Al-Rumaila and Al-Khasif camps located in the Al-Wadi district. It reflects the project’s commitment to enhancing the humanitarian aspect of its work while fulfilling its primary mission of clearing Yemeni land from mines and protecting citizens from their dangers.

Achievements of the “Masam” Project

Since its inception in July 2018, the Masam project, which operates under the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, has made significant strides. The project has successfully removed 485,501 landmines, explosive devices, and unexploded ordnance. Additionally, it has cleared 65,880,374 square meters of land in Yemen, contributing to the safety and well-being of thousands of Yemenis.

Through these efforts, the Masam project not only addresses the immediate threat of landmines but also fosters a sense of community and hope among those affected by the ongoing conflict.
