King Salman Humanitarian Aid Center’s “Masam” Project Removes 1,765 Landmines in Yemen

In the last week of February 2026, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s “Masam” project successfully removed 1,765 landmines planted by Houthi militias across various Yemeni provinces. This significant achievement highlights ongoing efforts to enhance safety and security for civilians in the region.

Breakdown of Removed Explosives

According to a recent statement from the center, the demining efforts included the removal of 13 anti-personnel mines, 5 anti-tank mines, 1,745 unexploded ordnance, and 2 improvised explosive devices (IEDs). This brings the total number of landmines cleared in February to 8,447.

Cumulative Impact of the “Masam” Project

Since the inception of the “Masam” project, the total number of landmines removed has reached an impressive 545,952. These mines were indiscriminately planted across Yemen, targeting innocent lives, including children, women, and the elderly. The presence of these explosives has instilled fear among the local population.
