In the past 24 hours, two individuals lost their lives in separate incidents in Amran Governorate, an area grappling with escalating violence and widespread insecurity under Houthi control.
Local sources report that Hashim Abdul Hafiz Al-Dailami was fatally stabbed last night while attempting to mediate a dispute between two citizens in the Houthi-Saada area. During the altercation, he received a lethal stab wound from one of the parties involved. The assailant fled the scene immediately after the attack.
In another incident within the same district, a man named Murshid Talal was shot dead by an armed individual from the Dhuh Shali tribe. This shooting stemmed from an ongoing revenge feud, highlighting the persistent cycle of violence in the region.
The district also witnessed the tragic murder of a child, Sadiq Al-Samout, last Monday. He was killed by unknown assailants inside his farm in the Khaywan area. This incident underscores the increasing lawlessness and the alarming rise in criminal activity throughout the governorate.
The recent surge in violent incidents in Amran raises serious concerns about public safety and the effectiveness of law enforcement in the region. As the community grapples with these challenges, the need for urgent measures to restore security becomes increasingly critical.
