Local sources in Al-Bayda Province have reported that the Iranian-backed Houthi militia launched a significant abduction campaign on Sunday evening. This operation specifically targeted residents of the village of Hanka Al-Masoud in the Quraishiya district, located in the northwestern part of the province.
According to information provided to the Yemen News Agency (Saba), the Houthi militia has kidnapped at least 400 civilians, including children and the elderly, from Hanka Al-Masoud. The militia transferred 360 of these detainees to the security administration prison in the Al-Kamb area, while an additional 60 individuals were taken to the central prison in the city of Rad’a.
The sources also revealed that, on the same evening, the Houthi militia detonated the homes of three local residents: Ali Ahmad Al-Jubli Al-Masoudi, Muhammad Saleh Al-Jubli Al-Masoudi, and Muhammad Ahmad Hussein Al-Masoudi. Earlier on Sunday morning, the militia had completely burned down five homes and rigged six others with explosives. Furthermore, they stormed and looted over 11 homes in the village, according to preliminary reports.
This incident highlights the ongoing violence and instability in Yemen, particularly in regions affected by Houthi control. The international community continues to monitor the situation as humanitarian concerns grow amid reports of escalating violence against civilians.
