Governor of Taiz Inspects Medical College and Hospital Project

Governor’s Visit Highlights Progress

Today, Nabil Shamsan, the Governor of Taiz, conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction and outfitting of the Medical College, Health Sciences, Nursing, and Laboratories, alongside a Cancer Hospital. This significant project receives funding from the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.

During the visit, the governor reviewed the project’s components and listened to a detailed briefing from the project engineer. The engineer provided insights into the current progress and construction activities, which are advancing at a rapid pace. This momentum prepares the team for the upcoming technical and furnishing phases, adhering to the latest specifications under the direct supervision of Saudi engineers.

Significant Investment for Educational and Health Advancement

Governor Shamsan praised the swift construction efforts, noting that the project has a total budget of $15 million. He emphasized that this educational institution will represent a transformative leap in both scientific and healthcare performance within the province. The governor expressed gratitude to the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen for its support in implementing this project, which aims to enhance educational processes and medical services.

Opening of Quality Control Office

Following the inspection, and in the presence of Technical Administration Director Bashir Al-Alemi, Governor Shamsan inaugurated the Yemeni Standards and Quality Control Authority Office. This facility, constructed at a total cost of 70 million Yemeni Riyals, plays a crucial role in protecting citizens from defective and harmful goods and products.

The ongoing developments in Taiz reflect a commitment to improving educational and healthcare infrastructure. The governor’s proactive approach and the support from international partners signal a promising future for the region’s public services.
