A member of the leadership council, Al-Sabahi, inaugurates high school exams in Aden, affirming political support for education.

Major Launch of Secondary School Exams in Aden

Aden, Yemen – Today, Major General Mahmoud Al-Sobaihi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, officially inaugurated the secondary school examinations for the academic year 2025-2026 in the temporary capital, Aden. This year, a total of 93,165 students from various liberated provinces will participate in the exams, which include both scientific and literary sections.

Examination Centers and Participant Numbers

Following the launch, Major General Al-Sobaihi, accompanied by Minister of Education Dr. Adel Al-Abadi and Curriculum Sector Undersecretary Dr. Abdulghani Al-Shudhabi, visited several examination centers. Their tour included the Al-Baihani Model School and Bakathir Girls’ School, where they observed the examination process, student discipline, and the organizational measures in place to ensure a conducive testing environment.

Dr. Al-Abadi provided details about the examination process, noting that participants are distributed as follows:

  • 78,727 students in the scientific section
  • 14,438 students in the literary section

These students will take their exams across 906 examination centers, comprising 709 scientific centers and 197 literary centers.

Comprehensive Preparations for Successful Exams

Minister Al-Abadi emphasized that the Ministry of Education has completed all necessary technical, administrative, logistical, and security arrangements. This includes preparing the centers and providing essential resources to ensure the exams run smoothly and fairly, promoting the principle of equal opportunities for all students in the liberated provinces.

He urged parents to support their children and create a suitable atmosphere during the examination period, highlighting that success is the result of collaborative efforts among families, schools, and communities.

Education as a Foundation for Development

Major General Al-Sobaihi stressed that the success of these examinations represents a shared national responsibility that requires the cooperation of all institutions. He noted that the Presidential Leadership Council and the government place significant importance on the education sector, viewing it as a cornerstone for human development and sustainable growth.

He praised the substantial efforts of the Ministry of Education, local authorities, educational staff, and examination committees. Despite the challenging circumstances facing the country, he commended their commitment and discipline. He wished all students the best of luck in their exams.

Additionally, he acknowledged the crucial role of security forces in safeguarding examination centers and maintaining order during the testing process, contributing to a safe and stable educational environment.
