President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, the head of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has expressed his condolences to the family of Brigadier General Yahya Wahesh, the leader of the First National Resistance Brigade. General Wahesh tragically lost his life due to a bomb explosion targeting his convoy, which also resulted in the deaths and injuries of several of his companions.
In his message, President Alimi, along with fellow members of the Council and the government, extended heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to the martyr’s family, loved ones, and comrades in the National Resistance and joint forces. He prayed for the Almighty to grant General Wahesh eternal peace and to provide swift healing for the injured.
President Alimi praised the patriotic and heroic qualities of General Wahesh, emphasizing that he was among the first to resist the Houthi terrorist militias and defend the republican system across various fronts. His commitment to the cause of national resistance has left a lasting impact.
In response to this heinous act, President Alimi directed the formation of an investigative committee led by the Ministry of Defense. This committee will include representatives from the Ministry of Interior, the State Security Agency, and the National Resistance. Their task will be to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crime and to take necessary actions to pursue the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
President Alimi reaffirmed that such criminal acts will not deter the resolve of the armed forces and security in their critical battle against the Iranian-backed Imamite project and affiliated terrorist organizations. He emphasized that these forces will continue their duty to strengthen the presence of the state and achieve security and stability across the nation.
The tragic loss of Brigadier General Yahya Wahesh serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by the nation. The President’s commitment to justice and national security reflects a strong resolve to uphold the values of freedom and stability in Yemen.
