The Republic of Yemen participated today in the 52nd session of the Arab Labor Conference, organized by the Arab Labor Organization in Cairo, Egypt. The Yemeni delegation was led by the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mukhtar Al-Yafai.
The conference, which will last for one week, includes representatives from the three production parties of 21 Arab countries, along with labor ministers, heads of delegations, and representatives of employers and workers. Additionally, it features representatives from Arab, regional, and international organizations and federations. The agenda covers several key issues related to the future of work in the Arab region. Topics include sustainable economic growth, comprehensive and equitable social development, the impacts of climate change on the work environment, and enhancing occupational safety and health while adapting to climate-related risks.
The conference will also explore the role of emerging institutions and the opportunities they present amid digital transformation. Discussions will address skill development and alignment with labor market needs, promoting employment, and tackling unemployment. Furthermore, the conference aims to enhance Arab cooperation and facilitate the exchange of experiences and practices among Arab countries.
The General Secretariat of the Arab Labor Organization honored Minister Mukhtar Al-Yafai for his leadership during the 51st session of the Arab Labor Conference. This recognition highlights Yemen’s contributions during its presidency in supporting the conference’s work and strengthening Arab cooperation on labor issues.
