The Republic of Yemen actively participated today in an international seminar focused on innovations and technology for mine clearance and recovery. The event, organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), featured a delegation led by Yemen’s Ambassador to Japan, Adel Al-Sanini.
The seminar brought together experts and representatives from various international and local organizations. Participants discussed technological solutions aimed at enhancing the efficiency of mine clearance operations. They also emphasized the importance of ensuring sustainable safety measures while supporting social and economic recovery efforts.
Ambassador Al-Sanini expressed Yemen’s eagerness to learn from international experiences. He highlighted the critical need for technical and logistical support to clear contaminated areas. Additionally, he called for funding to raise awareness, assist mine victims, and rehabilitate affected lands. These efforts aim to restore livelihoods and encourage local communities to engage in sustainable development programs.
