In a significant meeting held in Aden, the temporary capital, the Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi, discussed with the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Dr. Zeina Ali, several topics concerning the collaborative efforts and coordination between the ministry and the program in implementing 15 projects. These projects span various sectors including water, energy, agriculture, livelihoods, coastal areas, and natural reserves, aimed at addressing the adverse effects of climate change through dedicated funding.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of enhancing partnership in all planning and implementation phases of the projects, including collaboration with local authorities. The proposed coordination mechanism developed by the ministry was reviewed, aiming to give a clear role to local institutions in the consultative and executive processes. This collaboration has resulted in the signing of more than 13 projects across different fields.
