Tunisian President conducts extensive cabinet reshuffle in Al-Madouri’s government.

Tunisian President Initiates Major Cabinet Reshuffle

In a significant move, Tunisian President Kais Saied has implemented a comprehensive reshuffle of Prime Minister Kamal Madouri’s government, affecting the majority of ministerial positions. This reshuffle marks a pivotal moment in Tunisia’s political landscape, aiming to inject new dynamism into the country’s governance.

Key Ministerial Changes

The reshuffle introduced new faces in critical departments. Khaled Sahili now serves as the Minister of Defense, while Mohamed Ali Nafti takes on the role of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad. The health sector will see leadership under Mustafa Ferjani as the new Minister of Health. In the economic sphere, Samir Abdelhafidh has been appointed as the Minister of Economy and Planning, with Issam Al-Ahmar stepping in as the Minister of Social Affairs.

The reshuffle also brought new appointees in other vital areas. Samir Obeid is the new Minister of Commerce and Export Development, and Azeddine Ben Sheikh has taken the helm as the Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries. Education sees Nourredine Nouri as the Minister of Education and Monder Belhaj as the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The youth and sports sector will be led by Sadok Moraali, with Sofian El Hmissi taking charge of Communication Technologies. The transport sector will be under the guidance of Rashid Ameri, and Wajdi El Hadhili has been appointed as the Minister of State Properties and Real Estate Affairs. The environmental department will now be led by Habib Abid, with Sofian Tequia stepping in as the Minister of Tourism. Ahmed Al-Bouhali has been named the Minister of Religious Affairs, Asma Jabri as the Minister of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly, and Amina Srarfi as the Minister of Cultural Affairs. Finally, Riadh Shawd has been appointed as the Minister of Employment and Professional Training.

State Secretaries Appointments

In addition to the ministerial changes, the reshuffle included the appointment of state secretaries. Mohamed Ben Ayad has been appointed as the State Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad. Hamadi El Habib will serve as the State Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fisheries, focusing on water management. Hasna Jeballah has been appointed as the State Secretary to the Minister of Employment and Professional Training, with a focus on civil companies.

A Strategic Move for Tunisia

This extensive cabinet reshuffle by President Kais Saied is seen as a strategic move to bolster the effectiveness and responsiveness of the Tunisian government.
