Yemen’s Acting Permanent Representative Meets Arab League Official

Cairo, Egypt – Today, Dr. Ali Moussa, Yemen’s Acting Permanent Representative to the Arab League, met with Ambassador Faed Mustafa, the Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Palestine and Arab Occupied Territories Sector at the Arab League.

Strengthening Coordination Among Arab Nations

During their meeting, both officials discussed ways to enhance coordination and collaboration among the permanent representatives of Arab states. They exchanged views on the evolving situation in the region, particularly concerning key Arab issues, with a strong focus on the Palestinian cause.

Ambassador Mustafa emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination and collective action among Arab ambassadors. He stated that such efforts are crucial for supporting the Palestinian cause and strengthening Arab cooperation amid the current regional challenges.

Addressing Regional Challenges

The Assistant Secretary-General highlighted that the region is undergoing a critical phase marked by ongoing conflicts and competing regional projects. He called for the development of a unified Arab vision and initiative that would bolster the interests of the Arab nation while ensuring its security and stability. Furthermore, he stressed the need for continued responsible dialogue among Arab nations regarding current developments.

Turning Challenges into Opportunities

Both representatives acknowledged that the upcoming phase requires a realistic assessment of existing challenges. They discussed strategies to transform crises into opportunities that would enhance the Arab position and serve the interests of the nation, particularly the Palestinian cause.

Building on Recent Ministerial Outcomes

The two sides also underscored the importance of building on the outcomes of the recent Arab League ministerial meeting. They agreed on the necessity of ongoing discussions to formulate initiatives and visions that would contribute to regional security and stability while safeguarding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Commitment to the Palestinian Cause

Dr. Moussa reaffirmed that the Palestinian issue remains at the forefront of the Arab League’s agenda and the concerns of its permanent delegations. He noted that this cause is foundational to the Arab League and one of the key pillars of Arab collective action.

This meeting reflects a continued commitment among Arab nations to address pressing issues and work collaboratively towards a stable and secure future for the region.
