In a heartfelt ceremony held today in the temporary capital of Aden, the Ministry of Transport recognized several female employees in celebration of International Women’s Day. This event aimed to acknowledge their significant contributions across various sectors within the ministry.
The Minister of Transport congratulated all female employees on this special occasion. He emphasized that women represent half of society and play a crucial role in its development. He noted that throughout the country’s history, women have made substantial contributions alongside men in various fields.
Minister Al-Omari stated, “This recognition today honors the hard work of women in the Ministry of Transport. Their dedication and commitment to their responsibilities deserve appreciation. We, as the ministry’s leadership, believe in the importance of supporting and empowering women, providing them with the opportunities they deserve to become true partners in institutional development.”
The Minister also announced plans to strengthen communication with all ministry employees. He mentioned a series of upcoming meetings designed to gather feedback and suggestions aimed at improving operations and performance across different transport sectors.
Lobna Burhan, Director General of Maritime Transport Policies and Economics and representative of the National Women’s Committee within the ministry, highlighted the clear impact women have made through their knowledge and work. She described their achievements as success stories worthy of recognition. Burhan emphasized that this day serves not only as a celebration but also as a reminder of women’s active participation in creating opportunities and achieving goals.
The Ministry of Transport’s initiative reflects a broader commitment to gender equality and the empowerment of women in the workforce. By recognizing the vital role women play, the ministry sets a precedent for future efforts to foster an inclusive and supportive work environment.
