The Council of Shura has strongly condemned Iran’s recent aggression towards Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, and Jordan. This statement, released on Saturday, highlights the seriousness of the situation and its implications for regional stability.
In its statement, the Council labeled the Iranian actions as a grave escalation and a blatant violation of the sovereignty of these nations. It emphasized that such aggression poses a direct threat to the security and stability of the entire region.
The Council expressed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries in their efforts to protect their security and sovereignty. It underscored that the security of Arab nations is indivisible. Consequently, any attack on one Arab country constitutes an attack on the collective Arab national security.
Furthermore, the Council issued a warning to the Houthi militias, urging them to refrain from dragging Yemen into regional and international conflicts that serve only external agendas. The Council holds these militias fully responsible for any repercussions stemming from their involvement in this escalation, which could have catastrophic effects on the Yemeni people and the future of Yemen.
The Council reiterated its call for prioritizing wisdom and adhering to a path of peace. It urged all parties to work towards neutralizing Yemen and the surrounding region from proxy conflicts. Such efforts are essential to safeguard the interests of the Yemeni people and ensure regional security and stability.
The Council’s statements reflect a commitment to unity and peace in the face of external threats, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts among Arab nations to maintain stability in the region.
