Military Operations Authority Launches First Phase of 2026 Training Year

On Wednesday, the Military Operations Authority officially launched the first phase of the 2026 training and combat year. This event involved several military units and departments under the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.

Key Military Departments Involved

The launch included various critical departments, such as the War Operations Department, Infantry Department, Armored Department, Artillery and Missile Department, Military Engineering Department, Military Survey Department, and Military Communications Department. Additionally, the event featured the 6th Drone Brigade, Engineering Fortifications Unit, units from the Missile Brigade, reserve brigades, and specialized military schools.

Emphasis on Readiness and Commitment

During the event, General Staff Chief and Joint Operations Commander, Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, emphasized the significance of this training phase. He described it as a “critical juncture” in the nation’s history, stating, “This phase does not allow for complacency, favoritism, or half-measures.” He called for heightened combat readiness to achieve victory and restore the state.

Acknowledgment of Support and Efforts

Lieutenant General bin Aziz praised the substantial efforts made by the Military Operations Authority and its affiliated units. He also acknowledged the unwavering support from political and military leadership, which aims to alleviate challenges faced by the armed forces.

Training Plan and National Unity

In his remarks, Major General Khalid Al-Ashwal, Head of the Military Operations Authority, stated that the launch aligns with the operational training plan for the year. He highlighted this year’s slogan: “One Army Under One Banner to End the Coup and Protect the Homeland.”

Major General Al-Ashwal expressed the armed forces’ support for the sovereign decisions made by President Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. These decisions aim to protect civilians and maintain the state’s legal status, unity, and territorial integrity. He stressed that restoring the state’s entity requires unifying political, military, and security decisions, integrating all formations under the leadership of the Ministries of Defense and Interior.

Conclusion and Future Aspirations

At the conclusion of the event, the Chief of General Staff and the Head of the Military Operations Authority toured symbolic units and military vehicles. They congratulated officers and personnel on the launch of the first phase of the 2026 training and combat year, wishing them success in their national duties.
