The Supreme Council of the National Coalition of Political Parties and Components has underscored the critical need for intensified internal efforts to strengthen national unity. During a recent meeting, the council called for the activation of all political and diplomatic tools to leverage international sanctions against the Houthi insurgency. The council warned against any complacency in capitalizing on the growing international stance against the Houthis.
The council convened under the leadership of Dr. Ahmed Obaid Bin Dagher to discuss the latest political developments. Members focused on strategies to enhance collaborative efforts aimed at restoring the Yemeni state and ending the Houthi coup.
During the meeting, the council welcomed the sanctions imposed by the U.S. government on the Houthi militia and its leaders. They viewed these sanctions as a positive step toward curbing the funding sources for terrorism and supporting efforts to restore the Yemeni state. The council emphasized the necessity for the legitimate government to utilize these sanctions diplomatically, economically, and politically to increase international pressure on the militia and halt its violations against the Yemeni people.
